The National Enterprise and Development Chamber (NEDC) is a membership-based institution established to champion entrepreneurship, enterprise growth, and innovation in Tanzania. NEDC was founded with a clear mission: to close the gap in our entrepreneurial ecosystem and create an environment where no idea, no talent, and no dream is wasted.
Across Tanzania, we see young people, women, and men with extraordinary energy and creativity. Yet many remain excluded from opportunities due to barriers such as lack of finance, limited networks, weak policy support, or absence of mentorship.This results in unrealized potential and missed opportunities for national transformation.
The journey of the National Enterprise and Development Chamber (NEDC) reached a historic milestone on July 25, 2025, when the Chamber was officially launched in Dar es Salaam. This event marked the beginning of a new era for Tanzania’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, uniting startups, SMEs, corporates, investors, government, and development partners under one national platform.
The launch attracted over 400 entrepreneurs, policymakers, investors, and stakeholders from across the country and abroad. It was graced by Hon. Ridhiwani Kikwete, Minister for Youth & Labour, who officially inaugurated the Chamber and reaffirmed government support for youth innovation and enterprise development.
The event featured policy dialogues, exhibitions, and live showcases from young innovators, SMEs, and corporate partners. A strong call to action was made for donors, corporates, and government agencies to collaborate with NEDC in shaping Tanzania’s enterprise future.
